About 5 minutes ago, I finished reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I won't give anything away for those of you who are still reading.
We picked up our copies at 12:30 a.m this morning. James and I returned home and I had planned on going straight to bed and then start reading the book this morning when I woke up. However, when we got home, I had this strange feeling that I shouldn't go to bed right away. Around 1:30 a.m. my cell phone rang. It was the alarm company for my office building calling to tell me that the fire alarm was going off in my office building. I quickly throw some street clothes on and head to my office along with James. As we turned off of Riverside onto 3rd Street I noticed that all of the traffic lights were blinking red in all directions down the street (this was really strange). We get there and find one fire truck with a couple of firemen waiting and all of the alarms sounding. I entered the building with the firefighters becuase they had already determined that it was a false alarm. After we finally got all of the alarms to stop sounding, one of the firefighters accidentally pulled the alarm by the elevator (which had been pulled by some a**hole with nothing better to do late on a Friday night) and we had to go through the entire process again.
About 2:00 p.m. after getting the building quieted down and allowing the tenants to return to their homes I returned home. James and I were a bit keyed-up (understatement of the year) so we commenced to reading more of our books. Around 4:15 a.m. I finally looked at the clock again and realized that I was totally exhausted. I went to bed and woke up around 10 or 11 this morning and have been reading the book virtually nonstop ever since (except for 15 minutes for lunch and a hour & 15 minute nap).
This book is probably the best written Harry Potter book J. K. Rowling has written so far. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
